Stone Hand Iron Fever boss guide: block, don't trade

Stone Hand Iron Fever boss guide: block, don't trade in-game character art

Stone Hand Iron Fever is melee-only with no gap-closers. Block until his Sha-Chi empties, charge through his wind-ups with the Outlaw Warblade, and dodge the flip.

FAQ

Where is Stone Hand Iron Fever in Phantom Blade Zero?
Crimson Forest, at Mirrorwood Entrance. Ring the bell, take the stairs down beside it, and the open arena at the bottom is where he engages.
Why does Stone Hand Iron Fever break his own guard?
He attacks constantly, and those strings are expensive for him as well as for you. If you keep blocking instead of trading, his Sha-Chi empties before yours does — that is the fight, not a bug.
Can you kite Stone Hand Iron Fever?
Yes. He is strictly melee and has no instant gap-closer, so Flying Daggers at range is a legitimate plan. It is slower than blocking him out, but it is safe.
What does Stone Hand Iron Fever drop?
Iron Gauntlets, from the main story path of Snake's Reflection.

Getting there

Ring the Mirrorwood Entrance bell in Crimson Forest and take the stairs down beside it. The arena at the bottom is open ground with nothing to hide behind — which matters, because he closes distance the slow way.

Not the same boss as Iron Fiend

Easy to mix up: Stone Hand Iron Fever is a standalone fight in Crimson Forest. Iron Fiend and Jade Dancer are Mu Xiaokui’s guardians, and they only appear during the final phase of her fight in Village of Lu. Different region, different chapter, different boss.

How to fight him

The core loop: block until he runs dry

His strings are fast but his wind-ups are obvious, and almost everything is blockable or parryable. He also attacks constantly, which is his weakness: those strings cost him Sha-Chi too. Hold guard, let his bar drain, then spend the stagger.

Do not read this as passive. You still have to parry or dodge the glints at the end of strings — the blocking is what keeps you in the fight long enough for his bar to go.

The Outlaw Warblade trick

The Outlaw Warblade is the pick here because of its stagger resistance. Charging a heavy while he is mid-wind-up lets you tank the incoming combo instead of blocking it, which flips his aggression into your damage.

One rule makes or breaks this: only charge while he is actually attacking. Charge into an idle boss and he blocks part of it — you burn a large chunk of Sha-Chi and get half the damage. The charge is a counter, not an opener.

The one move you cannot block

Everything is blockable except the midair flip. When he starts rushing you with his fists while floating, that sequence ends in a Killer Move — unblockable, unparryable, dodge only.

The cue is the change of direction: he stops punching and starts gaining altitude. That is when you dodge, not when he lands.

The kite option

If you would rather not learn his strings, Flying Daggers at range works. He has no instant gap-closer and no ranged answer, so you can walk him down the arena and chip. Slower, but it removes the execution barrier entirely.

Gear

Slot Pick Why
Main weapon Outlaw Warblade Stagger resistance — charge through his combos
Main weapon Jagged Steel Bleed; Rampage during the stagger
Phantom Edge Flying Daggers The kite plan, or chip while he walks in
Prep Weapons to level 10 at the nearby bell He is tanky; under-levelled punishes drag

The Warblade also heals on hit, which quietly covers the chip damage you take from imperfect blocks — worth knowing if you are running the block-heavy plan.

Rewards

Iron Gauntlets — fist weapon reward from the Snake’s Reflection main path.

Notes

  • Block the strings, do not race him. His bar empties first if you stay defensive.
  • Charge only during his wind-up. Idle charges get blocked and waste Sha-Chi.
  • The flip is a Killer Move. Dodge when he starts rising, not when he lands.
  • Two-thirds health is a volume change, not a pattern change.
  • He has no ranged option. Any distance you create is free.
